Heroes of Arkesia,

On July 20, the Arcanist Advanced Class will arrive in Arkesia. The Arcanist imbues special cards with her Magick and uses them for a wide variety of effects. From slicing up enemies with a deluge of thrown cards to summoning powerful Magick attacks or team effects from the cards themselves, the Arcanist has a trick up her sleeve for every situation.

The Arcanist will join the Bard and Sorceress as the third available Mage Advanced Class. In this Lost Ark Academy, you’ll find information to see if the Arcanist is the class for you— and if so, help you start planning the skills and engravings you’re interested in using to enhance your impact on the battlefield.

Key Mechanics & Class Identity

The Arcanist’s skills are split into three categories; Normal, Stacking, and Ruin. Normal skills are used to deal damage and quickly build up the Arcanist’s Specialty Meter. The other two types of skills, Stacking & Ruin, work together to build up impressive attacks. Successful attacks with Stacking skills will build up to 4 stacks on an enemy target. When a Ruin skill lands, it consumes stacks built up on the target to greater effect— creating opportunities to deal massive damage.

Despite being armed with an arsenal of skills, the Arcanist will sometimes leave things to the fate of the cards with her specialty skill “Card Deck”. When the player lands an attack, it charges the Card Meter. Once the meter is completely charged, a card is drawn randomly from the Card Deck, which can be used to varying degrees of devastating effect. Two cards can be stored in the Deck at once, and can be activated by pressing [Z] or [X]. Find the full list of Cards in the deck below.

Leveling Up & Looking Ahead

For players eager to create an Arcanist, the July Update will also include two limited-time events to speed up their progression. We’ll have more specifics leading up to the launch of the July Update, but players can look forward to using the following progression events to rapidly progress an Arcanist (or another Advanced Class of their choice). No other Advanced Classes will release while these events are active.

  • A Punika Powerpass that immediately advances an alternate character to the end of the Punika storyline (Item Level 1302).

  • An Express Event that grants special missions to a selected Item Level 1302 character to help them progress to 1370, pairing well with the Punika Powerpass.

In addition to the upcoming limited-time events, every player starts the game with 2 North Vern Powerpasses that can be used on an alternate character. Players can also use the Knowledge Transfer feature in their Stronghold to help move a new alt through previously completed continent storylines.

We look forward to seeing the new Mages across the battlefields of Arkesia on July 20, and wish them luck on pulling the perfect card for whatever raid, dungeon, or activity they’re in!
